Where’s Ron Paul when you need him?
Perhaps you heard about our competitor’s run-in with the law: an Uber-affiliated cab driver was pulled over in Washington and the driver was ticketed… and despite degrees in both law and business, I have no freaking idea why.
Apparently, Uber’s owner doesn’t either. Nor does the City Council, which concedes that what Uber was doing is not technically, explicitly against the law. We’ll have to see how this plays out, as Jon is soon to launch a whole new service that builds on a model we first proposed in 2008, and which Uber has incorporated into its own model.
What I can say is this… when lawmakers aren’t sure whether something is illegal, wouldn’t it be best to err on the side of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?
